“One night, curled up on the shower floor, I chose life.”

Raised Mormon, third generation in Quito, Ecuador. Two weeks after turning 18, I moved alone to Salt Lake City, Utah for college — checking every box of what I was “supposed” to do. I married at 19, divorced at 24, and in the unraveling, I found myself.

At the same time my marriage ended, I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma brain tumor while living alone in a new city. At 24, I met my dark night of the soul. When you reach hell’s basement, there’s only one way left to go: up.

I chose to question inherited beliefs that were never mine — rooted in fear, patriarchy, and survival. I began therapy, ran daily, and explored wisdom outside my faith for the first time. I reclaimed my body, my mind, and my spirit.

Yoga has always been my refuge. I’ve practiced for over 16 years and became an instructor in 2020. Today, I serve my community through bilingual yoga classes, retreats, and monthly holistic events alongside a psychologist — bridging yoga, meditation, and psychology, with a special focus on the Hispanic community.

My 30s have become the time to give back. I empower women to remember that their wants and dreams matter, and I support men in their often lonely journey of deconstruction.

Healing isn’t linear — sometimes what we need most is movement, presence, or simply a hug.
